Chiclet Keyboard

(Chiclets is the brand name of a variety of chewing gum that does in fact resemble the keys of chiclet keyboards.) Used esp. to describe the original IBM PCjr keyboard. Vendors unanimously liked these because they were cheap, and a lot of early portable and laptop products got launched using them. Customers rejected the idea with almost equal unanimity, and chiclets are not often seen on anything larger than a digital watch any more.

These problems give rise to potential sources of injury when used for extended periods of time (defined as uninterrupted sessions exceeding 15 minutes, or intermittent keyboard use over a period of at least 3 hours). Some of these sources arise from the design of the keyboard itself, e.g. ulnar deviation, improper pronation and dorsiflexion. Others arise from the physical size or placement of the keyboard in the workstation, which include reaching outside your comfort zone.

Menggunakan mouse biasa terus menerus dalam waktu lama dapat mengakibatkan REPETITIVE STRAIN INJURY (RSI, kecelakaan karena tekanan yang berulang/terus menerus). Trackballs dirancang untuk menyederhakanan perubahan postur tangan dan metode pengoperasiannya untuk mengurangi kram RSI.

Ukuran bola yang tepat, tombol yang besar dan posisi telapak tangan yang relaks memungkinkan pemakai untuk mengontrol kursor secara langsung (menunjuk dan memilih) secara nyaman, tepat dan cepat.

LightPen

  1. It works in the same way as the original pointing device, the finger.
  2. The cursor moves to where the Pen is pointed.
  3. Clicking on the button is simply done by pressing the Pen on the screen.
